Hello! Welcome to Session 5 – creating an adaptive perspective. I am so happy that you are here today!
The goal of this session is to:
learn new ways to elicit the RR
learn how to develop adaptive thoughts that will contribute to the RR and help us manage stress and NF symptoms
learn about ways to increase our day-to-day wellbeing and quality of life
Then, we will demonstrate an RR exercise called guided imagery, which can help elicit the RR to improve our wellbeing and quality of life.
We discuss how to develop an adaptive, positive perspective by replacing NATs with more realistic and balanced thoughts.
We will also discuss the value of engaging in pleasant activities, healthy eating, and tips to stay mindful and use RR skills in response to stress.
We will start the session like we have with previous sessions by reviewing the material we’ve learned so far. Pay close attention because you will be quizzed at the end of today’s session!
